HOMEWORK Homework will typically be due on a Wednesday or Thursday, but not always. Homework will not be accepted no more than two days beyond the due date. There will be a penalty for late homework.
Homework #2 Due 10/6 Practice Shading -- Cubes, Cylinders, Rectangular Prisms
Homework #1 Due 9/11 Practice drawing rectangular prisms and cylinders using gesture drawing techniques learned in class.
HW #7 Due Tuesday 12/ 9 Irregular (organic and geometric shapes) with and without holes. Two pages, 4 sides. Draw lightly, leaving orthogonal lines. No shading.
HW #6 Due Tuesday, 12/2 This assignment is for you to practice applying the skills we have been working on in class. Using your knowledge of perspective draw your initials three dimensionally. Your first initial will be in the foreground; middle initial in the middle ground; last initial in the background. Don’t have a middle name? Us the letter “A”. Your letters should significantly extend above and below the horizon line. Use your knowledge of value and forms defined by light to add a full range of values to your initials and the background. Work carefully and neatly to fill the page. Demonstrate the drawing techniques that we have been using in class on this assignment.
HW #5 Holiday Card, Due the week of Nov 10 (for quarter 2)
HW #4 due Monday, October 27th
This assignment is designed as a benchmark to see what your current level of understanding is regarding drawing three-dimensionally. Use about 45 minutes to draw your name three dimensionally. Work carefully and neatly to fill the page. Start lightly with pencil then carefully add colored pencil to the letters to make them appear more dimensional. Choose analogous color groupings for the subject and the background, as we did in class.
Homework #3 Due 9/23 Choose your own object and draw a gesture line and Contour line of your object. Build on what we've been practicing in class.
